“Stop telling people what to do”

Too often we think we know what is best for others. That belief in itself is a limitation to help people in changing their behaviour. It blocks our ability to be curious and to understand WHY people make decisions. Sure, you can lure people into certain behaviour and trick them to make them act directly. This is what we call manipulation. Very effective on the short term, but this change is not sustainable. BAAS is passionate about creating sustainable behavioural change.

How? Boosting Behaviour

Boosting is an approach in which you acknowledge that people make autonomous decisions. Research shows that people who make autonomous decisions are more intrinsically motivated and will act upon their intentions more often. So if we understand what people do, we can help them to change their behaviour in a sustainable way. That means that we facilitate people to change, rather than telling them what to do. BAAS can advice you how to BOOST your project and change behaviour.

Getting started: find your spark

So how do you start this change? Depending on the behaviour you want to change, you can do two things.

Spark motivation in your target audience
To find out what motivates your audience, you can start by getting them excited. How? Boost their motivation with a workshop. This workshop will enable them to find out how to get started and how to make it more fun to change.

SCAN your context
If you are unsure how to change behaviour, it is wise to start with an analysis. BAAS can help you to understand why people act the way they do.

Why choose BAAS?

BAAS is dedicated to help you Boost behaviour. The ultimate goal is to help organizations propelling their own change. This means that BAAS aims to consult in a way to become obsolete in the long run. I believe that the advice will only work if it is embraced and used by the clients themselves. Your autonomy and expertise is key for the succes of the project. All BAAS-services are aimed at helping you to become a master in changing behaviour.
